Why the Wolven Gazehound?

Unique Wild Look

The Wolven Gazehound is a sleek, athletic and tall wolf-like dog. The angles and head are more narrow and slender than the average wolf-alike breed, creating the beautiful silhouette of the Wolven.

Desirable Temperament

The Wolven Gazehound is a calm, dignified, quiet and clean house companion. Unlike many northern breed mixes, containment and enrichment are manageable in a wide variety of living situations.

Commitment to Health

Dogs chosen to contribute to the Wolven Gazehound breed are health tested prior to producing puppies. Inbreeding and outcrossing are managed and measured using genetic testing to maintain a healthy gene pool.

Living With a Wolven

Adaptable Companions

The Wolven Gazehound adapts well to many different living environments, urban or rural, small family or large family. Wolvens enjoy the company of other dogs however they are prone to chasing smaller pets. They are gentle and loving with children.

Training a Wolven

Wolven Gazehounds are not ambitious or energetic dogs. While polite behaviors such as walking on a leash, greeting visitors without jumping, and housebreaking come naturally to them, advanced obedience and recall can be challenging to train. Gain the trust of the Wolven through positive and consistent training methods and discover what motivates the individual.
